FITTING
The Road version kit comes set up for the most common used rubber valves (Japanese bikes) so no fiddling with other adaptors, just go ahead and fit!
For all other bikes check the instructions for which seal and nut to use.
ANGLED VALVE FITTING When fitting the angled valves supplied in the kit, point them towards the right hand side of the bike. This will mean when its on the side stand you will have easy access to the valves with your air chuck or pump.
SENSOR ID ACTIVATION
When first fitting the kit, the dash needs to learn the ID of the sensors fitted. To do this turn the display on to the ID screen then ride away on the motorcycle and stay above 20kph for a few minutes until the display recognises both wheels.
OPERATIONAL
To flick between the temperature and pressure screens just press the right hand button on the display.
TYRE FITTERS PLEASE NOTE!
When removing/installing tyres with sensors fitted, always-
- Break bead away from valve area.
- Start with tyre machine tool away from valve.
- Do not cross valve area with tyre machine tool.
TIRE WATCH OWNERS PLEASE NOTE!
When getting a new tyre fitted remember to advise the tyre fitter that you have sensors fitted and to take care-see above.
FAQ
Q: How does it work?
Sophisticated electronic sensors measure pressure and temperature and wirelessly transmit a signal to the display mounted on your dash where you can see the information in real time.
Q: Do the sensors go on the valve stem?
No. Tire Watch sensors go inside the tyre. This enables them to measure tyre temperature as well as pressure much more accurately. They are a much more sophisticated sensor than the external ones available and are also more secure and safe from road debris and theft.
Q: How do I know they are quality?
Tire Watch has been selected by BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph and Ducati as the supplier for genuine fitment. Tire Watch has a racing heritage with tyre monitoring systems developed for Moto GP and Superbike, so these manufacturers know that they are getting the very best quality and safest technology available for their customers.
Our Tire Watch Road kits also offer more features than the genuine equipment models, including options of pressure or temperature display and adjustable warning thresholds.
Q: Does it fit my bike?
Yes, if you have a road bike with tubeless tyres it is 99% sure to fit!
Tire Watch fits pretty much all tubeless motorcycles and scooters.
Our Road Tire Watch kit comes with several adaptors to cover most bikes. One kit fits all!
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Q: Is it hard to fit?
It is very easy to install!
Once you have chosen where you would like the display to be fitted, you can use the components in the kit to mount it quickly. The sensors are mounted inside the tyres so once your tyre shop removes them it literally takes two minutes to install the angled valve and sensor!
There are no wires, so time to go for a ride!
Q: Does it have batteries?
For ease of install and operation the unit is wireless and runs on 3V lithium batteries for long life.
The LCD display battery has a 2 year life expectancy and the new Gen 2 sensor batteries have a 7 year life expectancy for average rider usage.
The sensors will only turn on when they sense the wheels rotating to conserve power usage.
